itinerary

This fascinating walking tour will take you from the Largo di Torre Argentina, where Julius Caesar was assassinated, through the Jewish Ghetto, across the Tiber via the Island, to Trastevere, a hotspot of Roman night-life.
  1. You will explore the cobbled streets of the oldest Jewish settlement in Europe, once known as the ‘enclosure of the Jews’, learning about the area’s tumultuous past and witnessing its bustling present. Before going across the river you will see the Synagogue of Rome, a striking structure with an eclectic architectural style.
  2. Crossing the boat-shaped Tiber Island, once home to an array of temples in Ancient times, you will be able to soak in the atmosphere of the charming Trastevere, wandering through its picturesque streets. An enchanting area of central Rome, Trastevere is frequented by locals, students and artists alike.
  3. Here you will also find the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of Rome’s oldest churches, with its eye-catching façade, decorated with a golden mosaic.
